Microbe Safari (“we / us / our”) control and operate this website (“Site”). The Site was created as an outreach project, funded by SEFARI Gateway and included partners from Moredun Research Institute, the Rowett Institute, Scotland’s Rural College and the James Hutton Institute. The following terms and conditions of use of our Site (“Terms of Use”), along with our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy, outline the terms upon which users (“you”) use our Site. Use of our Site includes, though is not limited to, accessing, browsing and obtaining information from our Site.

Please read these terms carefully. By using our Site, you indicate that you accept these Terms of Use and that you will comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you must not use our Site. You may wish to print a copy of these documents for your future reference.

Please note that we may revise these Terms of Use at any time and we reserve the absolute right to do so.

Under 18s

If you are under 18, you should review these Terms of Use with your parent or guardian to make sure that you both understand them. The “Contact Us” and “Feedback” forms on the Site should not be used by anybody under the age of 16.

Intellectual Property Rights

Except where otherwise indicated, we are the owner, controller or licensee of all intellectual property rights existing in all content, material or information contained on our Site. This includes, though is not limited to, any images, illustrations, designs, photographs, streaming and video content, written content and any other content that forms part of our Site. Permitted Use

Reproduction of the contents of the Site is permitted only in accordance with the following terms:

You may view the contents of our Site on screen. You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our Site for your personal reference or private study. In addition, any page or section of our Site may be reproduced for teaching or study purposes without obtaining our prior consent. You may print and copy these pages for your private non-commercial research. You may print and copy these papers for teaching purposes in schools, colleges or universities, provided that the relevant document is printed and copied entirely and is not used in a derogatory or misleading context, and that a maximum of 30 copies are made. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material on our Site must always be acknowledged.

If you print off, copy or download any part of our Site in breach of these Terms of Use, your right to use our Site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

You must not use any content or material contained on our Site for commercial purposes.

Except in relation to death, personal injury, fraudulent acts and any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited by Scots law, we (together with third parties connected to us) hereby expressly exclude (i) any warranties, terms or conditions which may be implied by statute, common law or otherwise; and (ii) any liability or responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage suffered by any user of the information contained in our Site or the material downloaded from it, or from any material contained on any third party websites linked to our Site, or from any internet software used in connection with our Site, computer viruses or other destructive programs encountered as a result of using our Site. This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
